Preserving History
The Museum of the Highwood is working to preserve the past for future generations through our exhibits, collections, programs, photo archives and events.
We are proud to be home to High River’s Visitor Information Centre, welcoming visitors from around the world.
In addition to providing tourist information and interpreter services for visitors to the High River area, we also offer in-house and school outreach programs, and host a wide variety of other events and activities.

A History of Perseverance
Our story is stronger than any disaster. If history has one lesson to teach us, it’s the importance of looking beyond the present. In the past decade alone, the Museum of the Highwood has faced fire, pandemic, and the disastrous 2013 High River flood, and through it all, we have relied on the strength and dedication of our team, volunteers, and our community to keep our history alive. From the challenges of today to the possibilities of the future, we look forward to preserving and sharing our story for generations to come.
